I don't disagree with anything in your post. "Firmer prices" could indeed turn out to be flat prices or even a slow rate of decline. I don't anticipate a major increase from this level, though a move back to $6 or so is possible.

I followed Dram prices for many years and finally gave up.
Today's dram price has little forecast capability of tomorrow's
MU stock price. And for those who do not get Dataquest, the same
Dram part can have different prices depending where you are in the
world. Reminds me of oil prices vs location of oil.

Any way the equation is simple:
DEMAND = SUPPLY
where the = sign is the price.
