You're not off the hook for the kitty stew comments... however I'm a little busy today and still in a quandry about Peta boycott of the TBS monkey shorts. I love those. They want to expand it to a full length "Channel of the Apes". Alas, peta is opposed... how can they be mistreating these celebrities!

Urge TBS to Cancel "Monkey Shorts"

The Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) is planning
to expand its "Monkey Shorts" series to a regular
weekly program called "Channel of the Apes."
Chimpanzees will be dressed in wigs and
costumes and forced to perform demeaning and
unnatural skits. TBS claims that the chimps will be
protected on the set by a representative from the
American Humane Association (AHA). Given that
nearly all training occurs long before the animals
are brought to the set, assurances that the production will be overseen by the AHA
are meaningless. The AHA admits it does not oversee compounds where animals are
trained.

The animal entertainment industry is fraught with cruelty. Chimpanzees are controlled
through fear and pain by use of, among other things, steel rebars wrapped in electrical
tape and "buddha clubs"--metal pipes wrapped in newspaper. After these intelligent
apes become unmanageable, they are stuck in small cages where they spend long,
lonely decades.

Please contact Time Warner, the parent company of TBS, and strongly voice your
objections to "Channel of the Apes." This show is truly a throwback to a less
enlightened time.
