I'm thinking there is some information here worth analyzing:

If the deal was strictly for a set amount of cash, there would be no advantage to a premature buy out.

If the deal was for stock, which is anticipated to be much higher before the deal would have closed if it had closed on schedule, then this move makes sense.

If the deal was on the basis of the worth of the companies at the time of closure (by what measure?), the premature deals would be bullish.

I even have the paranoid idea that the deal may have been for an average share price prior to closure and that it has been, in fact, AXC insiders, or the company, which has been selling on every rise!

Just a couple of fragments to chew over.
