I live on a small hill. They could be telling me an untruth. But last big earth quake we had here there was no damage to people here or to people on another bigger hill in Oakland. I got creamed in Emeryville because it was the flat lands and I believe land fill. My poor little apartment must have really shaken. My entire kitchen was covered with glass. All the first row of dishes in every cupboard was on the floor. I lost many of my Great Grandmothers things. The scary thing was that the rim of the hanging light fixture was across the room. The rim of this light fixture was hard to take off so let's just say I was glad I wasn't home at the time.

The people who got killed when the Cypress freeway collapsed....well that was my way home. That could have been me. I missed that by 1/2 hour. I was going home early that day to watch the game but my bosses boss called from Korea so I put my keys down and worked.

I couldn't sleep for several days. I fell asleep the night the news started posting the names of the people that had died. I couldn't sleep up to that point knowing those people were out there within walking distance of my apartment.
