some observations:

a large percentage of ISPs have used Linux for a long, long time - it's free or low cost, there's lots of software available they can use for accounting purposes, and it doesn't crash like NT.

And there's another but intangible aspect of its attractiveness: it's not Microsoft. Don't anyone underestimate the value of its parentage and ownership and that it's pretty wide open.

More and more software is being written for it - software that will attract a wide audience including, in time, the general public. Even now fully featured suites are available at fairly low cost compared to Office.

Is Linux the Great White Hope of the 21st Century? Could be...

Hi WebDrone,

It does seem that everywhere I look all I see is Linux, Linux Linux.
This may just be similar to when one buys a new car (sorry about the one you lost :-( ) and then all of a sudden
one never noticed how many there really are the same color, etc. as the one we just bought.(g)
I hope this is not the case because I do not know if/how many others are in the Linux Router game. We were
first but time will tell what this really means $$$.

Thanks for the Novl tip. I will put it on the radar screen.

John
