Lakota Energy Inc. Signs Letter of Intent to Acquire Data and
Voice <LAKO.OB>

Lakota Energy Inc. Signs Letter of Intent to Acquire Data and Voice Design, a Retail Provider of Wireless Ethernet Networks and Internet Services ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 1999--Lakota Energy Inc. (OTC BB:LAKO), announces the signing of a Letter of Intent to acquire Data and Voice Design of Houston, Texas. Data and Voice Design, (DVD), is a retail provider of commercial voice and data services with emphasis on converging voice onto ethernet, or "wireless" networks. By distributing voice across data networks, businesses can streamline their voice and data communications to work more efficiently and open the doors to currently available features that are accessible only when voice is integrated on the network. DBD has developed a strategic product line to capitalize on the demand for integrated voice solutions. These include agreements with 3COM Corporation, Maisoft Inc. and TUT Systems Inc., pioneers in the Voice over Internet Protocol technology. These products are designed to take advantage of the existing network infrastructure present in today's business environments. Currently, DVD has a base of over 100 customers. DVD deploys the use of a wireless ethernet network that allow voice delivery, network and Internet services using the latest wireless frequencies. With wireless ethernet, DVD is able to deliver Internet access speeds over 200 times faster than a standard dial-up modem. By developing its own independent network outside of the Southwestern Bell fiber infrastructure, DVD is able to maintain extremely high profit margins thus allowing for a suite of competitively priced integrated technology services. Cody Morgan, President of DVD stated, "Our goal is to become a single source for today's growing businesses for voice, data and Internet services. By providing powerful, advanced communications services, DVD will become the provider of choice for fast paced companies seeking integrated solutions." Ken Honeyman, President of Lakota Energy Inc. added, "DVD has demonstrated a growth pattern over the past three years that has allowed us to quantify the management, their capabilities and how they handled new technological advances. We are pleased with the alliances they have made with the likes of 3COM, Maisoft and TUT Technologies and we can see their success becoming part of our overall game plan of making prudent acquisitions." Forward-looking statements in this release are made pursuant to the "safe harbor" provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Investors are cautioned that such forward-looking statements involve risk and uncertainties, including without limitation, continued acceptance of the company's products, projects, competition, completion problems, technological changes and certain other unforeseen Risks. --30--DP/at* CONTACT: PMR and Associates, IR Patrick Rost, 760/942-0015 760/942-1581 (fax) PMRandcoaol.com OR Lakota Energy Inc.
