Mani,

Don't proclaim to know the reason but there could be an interesting gamble here if Intel stays at these level (or below) at option expiration time.

Intel is well known to sell a ton of puts to institutions and other big guys as a smart way of making money and buying back the stock on dips. This served them extremely well in the go-go days and increased their ROI on cash and marketable instruments a good deal. But this particular dip has been a bit too sharp. It will be interesting to see if Intel would be faced with a large buyback and a significant reduction in cash position or take a loss on its position.

Mani - Re: "What is the deal with INTC today? I am thinking about jumping in after months of watching. But it just went through its 200 DMA and I am worry about a pre-announcement coming up."

Judging by Intel's stock price, it would appear that they "preannounced" this morning !
