So it seems that timing is the key remaining question. How quickly after conversion would Apple be likely to repurchase shares? Is there any benefit in waiting or in acting quickly? Expressed in other words, how long after conversion should we wait before being able to assume Apple isn't going to redeem, if it already hasn't done so? One month? Six?

Sounds like mac is kicking ass in education -- was really impressed by the article's link to Stanford's residential computing advice page -- which very strongly endorses mac over pc's for incoming students!!!
