OT- j.o.- re:"There is such a MASSIVE incentive to create..."

Hi j.o.,

It is indeed an honor, sir, to have you respond to my post... thank you. ;)

And if I may rebut?... thank you.

My response to Donald was my postulate the number of internet failures may well be great and visible because the number of new businesses is great and visible, but on a relative percentage basis to other industries, may well be lower. Something like 95% of all new restaurants fail within the first year. This is nothing new.

However, a company that fails selling food or other sundry ambitions compared to a company selling songs over a cable is qualitively different because the latter is to all of us, well, quite fantastic. It really is, isn't it? So, when these companies come out and say they want to start developing matter replicators we all say wow! and.... well, yeah, I guess it is possible. Then when it fails, we say, "Oh yeah, matter replicators, what was I thinking!".

But nobody says that when many the sundry business goes belly up.

Ah! The shame one must suffer for being in the industrial spotlight!

If I may be so bold as to declare that I sense a bit of visionary myopia in your sensibilities which can lead to the mis-perceptions that I described in Donald's post.

It is with no offense and much respect that I make these comments and look forward to your always engaging reply.

Jon :)
