Nothing has changed for high tech companies but they are dropping because this market has no leadership and people don't know what to buy. Drugs, techs, chips, and internet, have had no news that makes the market happy in a couple of weeks. If Dell's and AOL's fantastic quarters were seen as negative what can be positive? If revenues are high they focus on margin. If profits are too high they focus on revenues. The market is in an irrational funk. Where will DELL and AOL be in 3 years?? Much higher than today. AOL will have a firm broadband strategy. ATT is years away from digesting its cables. Look at other hi tech big takeovers: COMS and USR; CPQ and DEC.
