AWRE's stated royalty is is 5-10% of the chip ASP.

Where or when did AWRE state this? As far as I have been able to tell, AWRE's states royalty per chip is.....a secret.

Again, take it or leave it. Each contract is NDA'd, but look for >5% on >$10/chip in the near (end of year/ next year) future. .50 is high- $1/chip is not sustainable very long. Ask anyone in the industry - $3/chip is crazy and won't last to the 2nd half of '99.

And again, that's just for VOLUNTARY purchase of AWRE chip IP, not any kind of standard requirement (there ISN'T any). Further, it is well known that several of the current Aware licensing players such as Lucent are getting pretty close on their OWN (*non*-Aware) G.Lite IP.

Don't have a URL, so take it for whatever you think it's worth.

Do your OWN due diligence.

(BTW, I think Tzannes is a *very* credible and widely respected guy)
