Jenna, as per usual, good comments. There is also the fact that when an IPO opens in this kind of environment, the market is so fast it is nearly impossible to follow. I was watching it on level 2 today and many times the bid was above the ask and the last was yet another price. I was asked by a number of newer traders how this was possible--because they are not used to fast markets.

Very, very hard to get a "feel" for these kinds of stocks.

That said, IPO's can be great. BRCD was fantastic today--it was the "other" IPO that got less noticed and did much better than BNBN.

re IPOs = Bear trap for the small investor not already holding shares. Best to let them find their bottoms and then buy.
