The point is that Chinese won't go to the wall over an accidental embassy bombing as would the Japanese of a few years back. The thread about the Japanese soldiers preferring death to surrender and retreat has little to do with the Chinese. This was just a manafestation of the Japanese samuri tradition amplified by the Japanese tendancy to place the interese of the state above their own personal interest.
