A nice technical explanation of how the leading content protection scheme works (for the techies among us):

Re : Duke and All --

Microsoft will fall by the wayside ... I have read the specifications on the EPAC coding standards including the single, dual and quad channel chip. The 3rd generation Codec standards specify a 16 channel chip with a data rate of 2-4 MHz which is substantially faster tha what Microsoft has with the MP3 adoption ... What makes the 3rd generation Codec better is the utilization of the LInear {u,A} Pin-Selective and External Resistors. Thus allowing for the analog output to be DIFFERENTIAL.....Makes a HUGE difference folks.....Another HUGE advantage of the Codec is the Delayed or Non-Delayed Timing Feature which uses a Bit-Offset and/or Flexible Time-Slot.
The Micro OS from e.Digital will utilize this environment with a greater efficiency rate and compression ratio than what Microsoft can produce.....e.Digital has the patent folks ....
The Casio product will be slower and poor quality...from preliminary specfications.. the product will not utilize DIFFERENTIAL but SINGLE-ENDED Analog Output...this will be a disadvantage ...If you want a competititor...do some DD and you will see that AT&T is the closest. They have the AB2 which took a big hit 2 weeks ago when 1/2 the engineers on the project quit!

The 200 million share float is wrong....Wendy Ravenal has stated that the float is 60 Million.....You can call her at e.Digital....check my prior post for the phone number.

As for the 'Greater Fool Theory'....this company is posied to lead in an industry still being conceived...If you think EDIG is hype....then your understanding of the technology, the industry, and all aspects of investing into technical companies needs rework.

Thank you --
