OT I've heard some very negative things about Brown.

Fidelity has, of course, some stricter margin requirements, mainly on internuts. That can irritate (CMGI is 80%). But they're cheap ($14.95/trade as Spartan, i.e. frequent trader) and absolutely reliable. And for options they automatically pick the best of the 3 exchanges, or so they say. Above all, you can trust every trade to go through w/o a hitch.

From Briefing.com....
MSFT announces that president and co-founder Steve Perlman is leaving company at end of month...
Maybe this is why it tanked near the end of session..

I had nothing but problems with Brown, and don't use them
anymore. The only good thing was the commission price.

SFD, i am a brown customer and have been one for over 2 years now. if you're a daytrader you can't beat the commissions at brown but many times the execution is far from desirable.

i've had many arguments with brown over filled market prices and this is on stocks like msft. i can understand getting a bad price on stocks like yhoo and the likes but msft is so liquid you should never get a price that far off from the bid or ask.

one thing about brown is they have very good margin rates if you will be carrying a margin balance. but i guess the trade off for low margin rates and low commissions is questionable executions.

in the last year, there have only been about 3 times that i could not place a trade on their website when i wanted to.

remember folks, it's never too late to buy msft!!
