MM, if China bombed a USA embassy and killed some USA citizens [see the USA embassy bombing and what happened to Sudan and Afghanistan as a consequence] they USA politicans would feel genuine anger and reprisals would be likely. If it was claimed to be a mistake, there would be demands for reparations and detailed explanation.

The huge trade surplus is something which nobody needs to worry about. Money goes round. All surpluses balance out. Money does not go missing in action.

I doubt China will start a trade war, but they'll take some action and it could well include USA businesses get a slow boat to China. Early entry to WTO would help the situation. Mike Moore for WTO boss [put a NZer in charge].

Spying is a big Yawn! Of course China, USA, Russia, France, Britain and even our pathetic SIS all spy on each other, nick off with military trade secrets [everybody wants the USA military secrets because they are worth having]. Spying has been part of conflicting human communities for as long as there have been people.

Sure they spied and used what they found. That figures. It isn't patented is it? Best way to make weapons is copy the best.

Oh for some decent UN Constitution.

Sure is a nice day!

[China doesn't have economic problems - their GNP growth is huge though it dropped from 10% or so during the Asian contagion which has fizzled.]
