Actually, you are both wrong. Most people supported the war, and insisted upon "Peace with Honor", which is why Nixon won election in '72, and McGovern lost big. Support did erode, but not precisely because of "body bags", but a sense of futility, which began with the Tet offensive. Although we "won" that round, the shock of having such a strong attack launched by an enemy we held in contempt, followed by years of inconclusive warfare, took their toll...
