turb...I may not respond alot, but I very much look forward to your cheery daily reports. What would we do without you?

Atmel has 'enjoyed' two previous 2 : 1 splits in the past...94 and 96, I think. The increase in shares in the treasury can, indeed, dilute OUR shares, anyone who thinks otherwise has not held much stock. Their are many things that can be done with stock besides splitting. Employee options is a prime usage, as are warrants...both used to get stock in the hands of 'others' in a cheap manner. As to acquisition...yes, that too can cost or gain for us...take the acquisition of Cyrix by (Who???) that they just had to spin off or sell becuase it was not a good match. I voted against the increase in stock shares because the use of the additional shares was not clearly spelled out, and for a mid-cap co and with our low daily volume, the company had clearly enough shares already.
Splitting may give everyone double the shares, but if daily volume does not accelerate significantly...is is very bad for us and the co.

Options are flat...few bought, few sold...very low prices.
