Jimbo, Every time I see a stock with growth in the 40's and PE in the 40's, I short the h*ll out of it. Just something really smart investors like to do. Scott

bye, bye support level !!!!!! Is this a good time to SHORT DELL????

Only way to find out is to try it. Personally, I don't short stocks after they've been down 4 days in a row, unless there's some news that damages the company's fundamentals. (Last substantial news from Dell was a strong earnings report.) Just can't get behind that "buy high, sell low" strategy <g>.

I dug up what Credit Suisse First Boston had to say about Dell 6 days ago:

Dell reported another strong quarter. With its efficient direct operating model, Dell is able to rapidly adjust to meet its own needs as it did in this quarter, pricing more aggressively -- trading-off gross margin for share growth. We believe Dell will continue to improve its model, and as Beyond-the-Box opportunities (finance, ISP, services, peripherals, etc.) develop, Dell's direct model will only increase its advantage vis-à-vis indirects. The Street may be disappointed that the company didn't exceed expectations, but if the stock comes under pressure, we would view this as an excellent buying opportunity. [emphasis mine]

I don't see that anything has happened to DELL in the past 6 days that would change this analysis.

Definately!!

Mortgage the house, never mind the kids education (they don't need it,) short as many shares as possible. If it reaches 30, borrow from your credit card company and short some more. Don't follow you position everyday, forgett about it for about 6 months. Then comeback and tell us how well your short position worked out.

Hope that helps.
