condor: Can I take a crack at your question..having been a former mutual fund maniac...you know they all say they like to invest in companies with 20% earnings growth..correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the year idt is supposed to crank out such earnings growth..they may all be waiting for the company to break the whisper number..if that happens, all the mutual fund screens light up..Garret Van Wagoner goes ape shit pushes the button and presto..5 million shares are purchased at 25..I really think it is no more sophisticated than showing them the money..fancy shmancy press releases are obviously not going to cut it...BFD if mother gets a free call on mothers day....herd mentality rules and they will all jump on board quick if we just show them the money..if I'm right, we are all millionaires the day after earnings are reported.

Condor, I have one possible explanation for not seeing block trades that I can attest to personally and that is that there may be no blocks to be offered. I have had the trading operations I use send in 5K and 10K share orders over the past month or so and every one took multiple executions to fill the order. Part of the explanation for my experience may be that I am buying with limits but these were at the asking price so I wasn't trying to be clever. I would think that if there truly are no blocks to be had then the big positions are being held by the strong hands. So we may have a certain level of distribution going on where major positions may be accumulating but at whatever is available picking up some each day as those who were disappointed or chose to sell on the news kept rotating out. Only an observation from personal experience and nothing more.
