Brian so you prefer the "conspiracy of stupidity" to the "military decision". Fair enough, though I thought most here were against conspiracy theories. I do admit that there are a lot of Oklahoma bomber types in the military, so they could go off half-cocked and feel little compunction in bombing the Chinese embassy. McVeigh was an enthusiastic soldier at one stage. There are plenty more where he came from.

Don't worry, The New Paradigm is still in place. It isn't going anywhere. There are Big Dipper rides within it though. I'm not selling and will enjoy the view from Dow 16,000 in Feb 2002. There isn't going to be WWIII whether the embassy bombing was deliberate as a warning to China about their position over Kosovo where USA soldiers might soon be occupying and being in danger, or whether it was an act of sequential stupidity [which you all seem to favour for your country, which is amusing]. A bit like Paul Krugman a year ago was warning against serial and parallel stupidity in economic managment, which didn't happen thanks to Alan Green$pan, Ruben and the gang at the Fed.

Maybe if Alan and Ruben took over from Clinton and Reno, rather than leaving it to Gore, things would really sing!

So don't worry Brian, I'm still on The New Paradigm song. There are just a few bumps in the road ahead. A few margin calls and sweaty palms among the internet stock owners and Dow index derivative backers should see us back on track - as Jon says, when enough people have been separated from their positions.

I heard tomorrow will be another nice day.

Brian. You are a very naive, historically ignorant, and I would guess, a very young fool. *Old fools* are, in my opinion, a contradiction in terms.

Best of luck, my young friend.

Brian, I'd encourage you to stay out of the shadows. There are too many old guys (like me) spouting off based on references that are too dated to be useful. We need to be reminded occasionally that our leases are running out, and that the new tenants have the right to redecorate the place.
