Huh? China's GNP growth has been very rapid for years and years. What do you mean incorrect? Even Japan's economy has barely declined in GNP despite the huge financial shambles they got into. With Japan's ageing population and huge wealth, it would surprise me if Japan's GNP didn't drop a bit [apart from the 'those having it tend to make more' effect]. Of course, in US$ they have suffered a big decline, from 1995, but in Yen they are fine. Overall, it's ticking along okay in Japan and IDO is selling heaps of cdmaOne.

I don't think Saudi Arabia [as a country though I wouln't be sure about individuals] funds USA citizen killing terrorists. USA citizens seem to be doing a pretty good job of that themselves lately.

China and Japan are world powers, but they don't have a lot of terrorist activity directed at them. China didn't invade North Korea any more than USA and New Zealand invaded South Vietnam. We were all invited by the rulers of those areas. The USA invaded South Korea in the same way that China invaded North Korea. After they each killed a lot of people, they had a truce, which stands until today.

I think you are right that the enemy on the outside is easy to identify. It sure is... hey, who shot grapefruit juice in my eye..bugger..I was just going to say it isn't New Zealand. Probably it is some country which is supporting a breakaway province [Taiwan], bombing their embassy, sailing warships between Taiwan and mainland China, stopping China entering WTO, raising vituperation over 'human rights' in China, invaded neighbouring countries [Korea, Vietnam]. Let's see. Japan? Nope. Australia? Nope. Russia? No...I give up...

Finding an enemy from outside? I think the enemy presented itself by its actions.

Ummm, well, nothing...
