<<It is impossible to compete with heavy capital, and where are you supposed to go if you "get out"? In case you haven't noticed , very few already control most of the wealth--- certainly not me or I would hazard a guess, all of the posters on here. When none of us can make a better living then most on this planet , where do you suggest we get out to? and who the hell are they that should be allowed to tell us to "get out".. BTW,, there is lots of heavy capital out there that was obtained quite illegally, and has since been turned into "old Monied families">> It is posts such as this that make me consider your status as a self proclaimed "capitalist peeg" as being very dubious. You express outrage over corporate welfare, and yet you all but exclaim that the goverment should put "market disadvantaged" enterprises on the dole? And protectionism is the dole... After all, the only way for small fries to compete is with government protection, right? Again, its alright for the small guy to want all the pie, but when the small guy becomes the big guy (all big corps where once start-ups) its evil for them to "take advantage," ie COMPETE. You expect a successful business enterprise to punish itself for being... successful. You'd make a good Justice lawyer. As to getting out, I dont own a farm. Farming is a business enterprise. Its no different than some schmuck buying a McDonalds franchise. If he cant compete, he gets out of the business. The only difference is that McDonalds is far less risky. If you feel that you dont make a better living than most on this planet, than you need to get out more, because you and I are living better than any ancient Oriental despot ever did, and certainly better than half the worlds population. Just because you cant buy that brand new Ferrari, doesnt mean you're being "oppressed." Very few hold most of the wealth, yes thats true. Thats the price of the system. You made them RR. Everytime you go and buy your Twinkies you're making someone richer. How much do you want those Twinkies RR? How much do you want all the things that you take for granted, which *someone else provides, and for which you are willing to pay?* Economics is not a zero-sum game, when one person gains it does not mean he has deprived it from someone else.
