Too bad if it is true. So Phone companies then charge us for a dedicated computer line and then charge us to use the internet. This is real monopoly and control.

This is very similar to programs which are started locally by citizen volunteers and funded by volunteers only to find in several years that the government takes over the programs and all taxpayers pay.

Would it matter anyway? By the next 3 years or so, won't majority have already converted to DSL or cable?

CNN is reporting that the phone cos. will start charging long distance rates for internet service.

This is a hoax. It has been passed around the net for about a month.
