There would be no way for Street.com to know how much activity took place. The term "derivative" is catch-all and refers to any entity related in its price function to a given security. I thought the subject was exchange listed equity options. Tell me, how does one interact privately with NEM clearance and how does an exercise operate? No member firm would transact off board when they have MMs on the CBOE floor. There were rules against that but so much has changed in the last 10 years that there are all sorts of shenanigans allowed now.
