Anyhow I won't be holding any positions overnight except some earnings plays not in the net sector. For the net sector I'll be holding options mostly puts and some of the telecoms/media/cable stocks still look a little bloated. If the earnings plays do well (i.e. give me a 5% or more gain each before the report) like DY, COO, BTH, SEH, JLG,ADCT I might hold these through earnings, sell and rebuy them after earnings. Or I will do like I did with CA..sell before earnings and just leave it. With INTU I was already able to make my fourth trade. (that was because INTU was brought over to this weeks's calendar as it was originally in last weeks' calendar) There are not many reporting but that makes it easier to research the ones that are reporting all the more thoroughly. To gain from the 'down side' of the market I'll be buying puts/calls on the oex and/or select nets, financials, not holding more than 1 night or 2. Since there will be a lot of activity excuse any errors in posting especially with all the running lists of turbo options and Q-Chart Option chains I follow. Before following just make sure my 'buy' price is very near the one you are seeing (allow for about 1-4 to 1/2 point differential because of 4-5 minute delay).. If there is a difference by a point or more there is an error. Also know that these are risky and you have to be ready to risk 1k here and there to make the bigger pot. It's almost like a straddle, you lose one position, hopefully no more than 1 or 2 points but stand to gain 6 or 7.. I know beforehand what my 'risk tolerance' is. I know I can take a certain amount of losses and not endanger the trading portfolio. Knowing that gives a lot of confidence because I dont 'have to win' on the play. Since I do not have stops on my options I have to track them well but, here again, I have the time and inclination and when you do this full time, you do have an advantage.
