Frank: Take it easy on Michael Dell. You must realize that DELL is NOT the only high quality technology stock that has sold off. DELL is a very strong company and has A LOT talent on board. MSD is truly a visionary leader and he has accomplished a great deal in a short period of time. Yet, he is not perfect -- neither is Bill Gates. DELL and MSFT have helped the Nasdaq and S & P reach record levels and IMO they will also help them recover. Both of these companies are viewed as clear leaders in their marketspaces and will attract investor support because of their superior performance and impressive growth prospects. Stock prices are based on future expectations. In the LONG TERM I wouldn't bet against Michael Dell (or Bill Gates). It is true that I do not have as many DELL shares as I had early in the year. Yet, DELL is THE ONLY large cap tech stock that continue to hold. Have faith in Michael Dell and give him a chance to continue to execute. He already has accomplished more than most executives would dream of accomplishing in 3 lifetimes -- and he may be just getting warmed up..<GG>!!

Best Regards,

Scottt

Frank, I think that things are getting a little out of hand. What in the world would be the point in suing Michael Dell, and for what? Dell continues to deliver growth.

You are undoubtedly upset that the stock price is down. And if you are like me, you are none to thrilled that Dell cut it's prices to the point where gross margin decreased by 90 basis points. But let's not forget certain things: Dell is the fastest growing computer maker out there; Dell is the most profitable computer manufacturer out there; Dell has the best financial management of any tech company; Dell has not misled investors. So what, specifically, is the problem?

If it's the stock price, then look to the people who have been selling. Just remember, high growth stocks are also high risk stocks. They move down disproportionately fast in down markets. You cannot expect to invest in a sector characterized by high beta and high P/E ratios without the expectation of high volatility.

Frank,

Hope you've had a chance to cool off by now. My original statement stands. The idea of starting a class action suit against DELL for misleading investors is absurd. Name me one instance where DELL management has misled investors about the company's prospects or growth, and document it.

However, some of the more euphoric optimists and dreamers on this thread do so regularly. It is perhaps understandable, considering DELL's historical growth and earnings. When we are positive about something (this stock) we love to hear other people tell us how good it is... even if their statements are pure speculation, dreams, manipulation, or what have you. .... and we are reluctant to listen to negatives, regardless of source or how well documented. If you wish to be more successful in the market, it might be useful to learn to listen to both the treble and the bass clef music.

Your post also contained some gratuitous personal slurs (yes, I realize I did start it) ....

1. Just be sure that I do not see your name or any class action suits against Dell in the future ok Big Shot??
Not a chance. IMO, DELL is probably the best run company in corporate America. And it would be extremely illogical of me to sue a company in which I still hold a long-term interest, as that would detract from the company's focus, would drain earnings for court costs, etc. And I am not a 'Big Shot'. You probably own many times as much DELL as I do.

2. Now put that in your funny cigarette and smoke it.
I don't smoke at all: no nicotine, no cannabis, no corn silk, nada.

3. Why are you hiding behind some ficititious name??
I don't hide behind anything. Those are my initials: John Bachman Nabors, III => jbn3. As you would know if you had visited the Annual Meeting thread.

It looks to me like you are buying stocks expecting a 'sure thing': like a child receiving an allowance or an adult receiving welfare payments. Ain't no such animal in the stock market, especially in technology.

Some folks have been hoping that DELL would be recognized as an internut play and receive a corresponding valuation.... if that ever happens, then the volatility we've just seen is mild to what you can expect. Hope it never happens, personally.

JFWIW... DELLish, 3.
