At the Intel stockholders meeting, Arthur Rock said he's watched, or mentored, Intel through the Noyce, Moore and Grove eras, about ten years each as CEO, with outstanding company performance. He said in ten years time, he expected to be able to say the same with Barrett in charge. Of course, he has an axe to grind, but most of us here feel the same way. It's the management, and people, which Intel still has, as good as any. Maybe you couldn't say the same about Kodak, Westinghouse/CBS,
Motorola, Woolworth/Venator, KMart, DEC, that you mention. Throwing in IBM, I know they got complacent and took their eye off the ball. I don't see it happening at Intel.

GVTucker:

Re: There is no empirical evidence to support that opinion. Several studies have been conducted over the past decade attempting to correlate past performance with future performance, and none have shown any relationship.

Quite to the contrary. My original post on the subject (http://www2.techstocks.com/~wsapi/investor/reply-9763742) provided empirical evidence showing that INTC has recovered quite nicely from the >25% corrections it has encountered over the past 3-4 years. It is my opinion that this trend will repeat itself with the current correction, as well as the many future >25% corrections that INTC will undergo.
