David, do you think that the Australian market and Nikkei were up because the money was flowing out the US market back to its bases

I don't think you can analyze one days price moves on this basis. The All Ords was already at fairly strong support the day before. I don't know about the NIkkei. If people did the same analysis as I did then they would be thinking that the SP 500 at least fell as far as it will for the moment and so why not get back in the market here hoping for a boost tomorrow from the US market overnight. The All Ords opened down in line with over night trading of the share price index (SPI) futures and recovered pretty consistently throughout the day.
