To be fair,

E-Trade has had their servers go down and Discover Brokerage has had their servers go down. This is not unique to alot of online brokers. Wit has a good product. Their business is growing. Perhaps far faster than they anticipated. When that happens in business, sometimes you can't get enough resources on board (computer upgrades, specialized staff, etc.) fast enough and you have some growing pains.

Is the system ideal, no not yet. But as far as I can see, the management at Wit is doing everthing possible to improve things as they grow. For example, it was obvious that the FCFS was usseful when they had few accounts, but with the explosion of customers, it was clear that FCFS was no longer the best option. Their goal is to make IPO's available to the individual investor. Someone sitting at his computer hours per day is not the ordinary individual investor (more likely the individual trader). So I think the lottery system is an improvement(for the record- I got Dear John letters for both of todays IPOs). I think if your patient with WIT, you will see tremendous improvements over the next several months and years.
