OT -- Any patent lawyers in the house?

Way back when I was discussing the difference between my way of trading and SlashNscalp's (whatever happend to that guy?) I used VISX as an example. At the time I mentioned that at some point in the future VISX will fall due to patent law suite uncertainities of Nidek when (not if) Nidek finally makes it into US. I also said that when that happens, I'll get out of VISX and wait for the dust to settle before doubling down on VISX. That day arrived a few days ago and VISX fall is now in full force (though it may go on for another 10 points or so).

It appears that Nidek is trying to do to VISX what Western Union tried (and failed) to do to Bell on the invention of the telephone; they have bought themself some half backed previous patents and inventors and are now disputing some of the most fundamental patents of VISX on a "prior art" basis. I had not counted on this twist and am now not as sure as before whether I should buy VISX at lower levels.

The gist of the story is in this long but interesting article Message 9765765 I appreciate any comments you may have. Feel free to post them at either VISX or Art of Investing threads.

Thanks,
Sun Tzu

<<Would that be the old 3500 or the new 3500TV? >>

There is no old version of the 3500. Whatever the
V3-3500 was is now replaced by the 3500TV. June
has caught me by suprise. First it was July then
it changed to Aug/Sept, now thw beginning of June.
I hope its true but I'll believe it when I have one
in my computer:)

Of course there is the 3500TV at 200mhz in the Falcon.
