Hi Bob: I fully concur with the scenarios you described. If you take the Overall Conditions, scenario 1 seems more consistent with the Overall picture for the following reasons:

The Major & Sector Indices, which are in a downtrend ,are about 6 to 10% above their support levels. Market downtrends generally turn after
a test of a support.

NN's earnings report will only be due in Sept and Momentum Investors generally position themselves nearer to the Earnings release dates.

Investors are tending to disregard NEWS Feeds and Take over rumors as substitutes for Earnings and Revenue growth.

The cost of installing/Overhauling an existing Supply Chain Mgmt system might need to be accounted for.

Although I closed out today, I have not yet reversed as I need to establish the NASD uptrend.

Regards.

Regards.

i would tend to disagree with some of the ta on this thread. as i read the chart, 29 was minor support and taking out 27 (close below without rebound back above the next day) spells 23-24. the lack of volume makes it a tough call. stock acting like it wants to @ least put up a fight @ 27 though. earnings and cc are tuesday after the bell. if we hold up til then, mgmt will have the chance to solidify the support. if it breaks after the cc, then i would turn quite negative short term. nn is about 6% of the portfolio and 0% of new accounts as i'm waiting for this to resolve. tough to buy in here; would actually be easier to initiate new positions and possibly add to existing if we did break (with the market) to 23-24. i know.... more wishy washy than normal..

of course, if the market rolls over (the charts look horrible), nn will roll too. some real leaders have broken (intc, dell) others (emc, aol, wcom, ge) are fighting the brave fight to hold the recent lows. somewhat encouraged by relative strength of the naz today.

just trolling the si boards to gauge sentiment...

all imo only....nick
