I don't think GNET would buy Globix. GNET seem to be set on 80% gross margins. Someone running fiber optic networks, etc. prob won't have those (although I haven't looked). Having said that, I know someone who considered working with them and they're doing some interesting things. They have a very nice building just down the street from me.

However, I think an edgar data site would be an outstanding addition to the SI family. What about www.freeedgar.com? It's a great site.

One thing I got out of this mornings interview is the emphasis they're putting on gaming. Multiplayer 3D intereactive games could be an absolutely killer app. It could be a virtual online community, play Doom with 100 total strangers, explore cities you've never been to.... yada, yada, yada. I can't wait for more news on that.

And oh yeah, I still think a music site would be key. Music has already proven to be a hit over the web and it fits nicely into the broadband area. (crystal clear 16 bit radio with every imaginable genre.) The only thing is I don't know if there're any music sites that aren't bleeding red. (MP3.com racked up losses of 1.5M on sales of only 0.4M last year.) Spinner.com is my leading choice, because of their popularity, streaming capabilities and variety of genres, but I have no idea what their finances are like. Also, I don't know what their margins could be like, due to the inherent cost of streaming hardware.
