Bought SIII at 7 3/16 on deal with IBM getting around. . .

this was "timing" play

Has nice support level here around 7 . . long term consolidation from which to rise. SIII is AURL's competitor, so it is bad news for AURL. Could get further attention from here, but not if volume doesn't pick up.

Here is news:

05/26 2:14P (DJ) DJ IBM To Use S3 Inc.'s Savage4 Accelerator >SIII IBM

News May 26, 08:47 Eastern Time

SANTA CLARA, CALIF. (May 26) BUSINESS WIRE -May 26, 1999--Following its recent
IBM consumer PC design win, S3(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: SIII) today announced that
IBM (NYSE: IBM) has also chosen its Savage4 accelerator to power select models of
IBM's newest PC 300PL commercial system.

Two of the largest shipping PC platforms worldwide, IBM's consumer and commercial PCs
should account for substantial volume shipments of S3's Savage4 accelerators worldwide
in 1999.

"For the first time ever, S3 is supplying the graphics capabilities of both IBM's commercial
and consumer PCs," said Dan Karr, vice president of Worldwide Sales for S3 Incorporated.
"Combining this with the announced IBM Consumer, Compaq and Micron PC design wins
for Savage4 -- as well as two more unannounced top-tier PC OEMs -- and it is quite clear
that S3 is well on its way toward its goal of regaining the number one spot in the PC
graphics industry."

About IBM's PC 300PL

The PC 300PL, IBM's popular business PC, has been enhanced with the Pentium III
550MHz processor, re-charging the system with added power to match its industry-leading
manageability and network readiness. Select models of the new IBM PC 300PL also
feature Number Nine's SR9 AGP 2X graphics adapter with S3's Savage4 and 8MB of
high-speed SDRAM memory. The SR9 gives PC customers 128-bit graphics and advanced
3D rendering. Additionally, the SR9 features MPEG2/DVD motion compensation for
enhanced full-motion video.

About the Savage4 Solution

Targeted at the commercial and consumer PC markets, Savage4 is designed to deliver 3D
rendering capabilities equivalent to high-end, niche gaming solutions, as well as leading 2D
graphics and video acceleration. Built around a new 128-bit super pipelined 3D engine,
Savage4 provides AGP 4X technology, true 32-bit 3D rendering, S3TC, trilinear filtered
single-pass multi-texturing, hardware accelerated DVD, 32MB memory support and
complete digital flat panel support.

Based on its feature set, expected performance level and price point, S3 believes that the
Savage4 accelerator is the mainstream graphics platform to beat in 1999.
