By the high valuation of market cap relative to revenue, I'd say the average investor groups this one with the internets.

"What sector does ATHM fall into more, CABLE or INTERNET?".

Hi Ron. I class ATHM as a tech stock rather than an internet stock. It held up well the last couple of days, while the internets were getting hit much harder. It's also one of the first to come back when the techs/internet stocks turn around.

We may not want to see ATHM as a "net stock", but the market sees it that way. No doubt. With XCIT being 1/3 of the company thats not such an unreasonable definition either.
ATHM is *not* and never will be "cable". It might have been "tech" once, but now the future of ATHM is in whatever they can achieve beyond just subscriber fees.
We bottomed today at 110! Thats 55% of the high of 198 without the slightest hint of bad news. A net stock for sure.
I wouldnt be surprised to see a bounce to the 140's and possibly another retest of 110 in later june or july, but I still stand firm that we will *never* go below 100 (=50) again as long as ATHM keeps executing to plan. Sold some other net stocks at a loss today to buy more ATHM as I think it has a better chance to hold the rebound.
Eric

Re:There was a question that I had put out to the thread about one month ago and got no response. "What sector does ATHM fall into more, CABLE or INTERNET?".

Ron, my personal perspective on this issue is that, because of the cutting edge nature of companies such as @HOME, they don't necessarily fit into either. Probably the best characterization would be COMMUNICATIONS; cable BB is only a hybrid of this subset, after all. Regards
