Sam,

<<. My problem with them is their proselyting others and creating the illusion of heaven and hell and promoting fear and selfishness instead of love and sharing. >>

I understand why you feel that way(I alsounderstand the need for certain Chrisitians to proslelytize). I guess my next question would be this. Doesn't the proselytizing of Christians give you the opportunity to more clearly dfine your own path? By that I mean, doesn't it help you to illuminate and define your own philosphies?

An example(although very simplistic) would be, without the concept of hot, there is no cold. Without any idea of "over there", there can be no "over here". No high, without low, etc. Simply stated, in the absence of what "there is not", there is no "what is".

Without something contrary to what you believe, thre is no definition to what you believe. the presence of something contrary not only defines what you believe, but just as importantly, may be the catalyst
for the birth of your beliefs.

I am not sure I stated that with any clarity or coherence:-) If you want me to try another way, I will give it a shot.

Mark

I'm a bit confused about your statement. First you say Jesus teachings have no problems; then you say heaven and hell are illusions. Jesus tought/implied that heaven and hell do really exist. How would you think his teachings are problem free? Are you also saying that God just thinks he created heaven and hell when he really didn't? Your beliefs are unique to say less than the least.
