A tid bit from market watch,

Meanwhile, Daiwa Securities' Cohen commented, "In
the case of Intel we're seeing demand for the Celeron,
which are the low-end of the product line, and less
demand for the high-end Pentium III. That demonstrates
that the consumer sector is doing well, but not the
corporate sector." Intel (INTC: news, msgs) stock lost
3/16 to 52 11/16.

What about the possibility that corporate sector has realized that PIII does not make their work any easier and opted for the less expensive Celeron.

Intel should take it easy on Celeron price cuts if it want to maintain its ASP. Good scenario for AMD, IMO.
