Really, you're looking for sanity in a market that values eToys as greater than Toys r Us?

If Novell is going to make lots of money, the stock will follow. If it doesn't follow, Novell will buy back the stock and then it will follow.

I am still long. Having listened to conference call I feel OK about that but I must admit I was not very impressed with the way that the future was projected. I was not left with a clear idea of exactly what the objectives were for next 6 months.

I want to know what the plan is to get to 50 cents in a quarter.

I also believe they should have continued share buy back and make this a constant like IBM does.

I am also confused about what all these partnerships are and what they mean.

It will be interesting to see what ZEN 10 products these folks come up with and I plan to hold on for a while.

fb, first off, NOVL's 1997 high was around $13, while you mention $21.

If you are sweating it and feel frustrated, you know what you can do--> SELL for a profit. Otherwise, NOVL was moving UP the past few weeks as the Nasdaq continued to CORRECT DOWN. We held our ground, and then some selling on the earnings news. Happens to MSFT, AOL, CSCO, etc. Relax....life's to short, take a walk to cool down and regain your thoughts. Regards, QuadK

I think it is really easy to get discouraged in this market. To maybe give some perspective, a stock i wanted to get into (etek), suddenly moved up from $31 to $50 in three weeks and i was pretty upset for having missed the runup . However a week after that it was back down to $32...who knows why.....the markets are really crazy right now. Having said that i think the activity in novl from wed. to fri. was pretty interesting, volume was above normal each day, and after three days the price was up. I suspect what we were seeing is the sellers who rode the stock up from $7 wanted to exit and take profits, and the buyers who came in and replaced them were attracted to the stock because of the company's increased growth prospects. Once the transition is complete, i suspect the stock may start to move up. Does anyone share my perspective?
