Yet another deal. Paul isn't wasting any time. He is going to have to start thinking about raising some money soon to upgrade his empire to two-way HFC. I hope he moves as quickly as AT&T apparently is with the upgrades. And at some point, the FCC is going to have to get involved. I suppose that time will come when he works a deal with a long distance company or one of the backbone players.

Charter Communications plans to buy Fanch

NEW YORK, May 27- Billionaire Paul Allen's Charter Communications is expected to announce Thursday it will buy Denver-based Fanch communications for $2 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The Fanch transaction would add about 550,000 customers to Charter's fast-growing base, the newspaper said.

Paul Allen is known for his dreams to build a cable empire, but also for his role as the co-founder of Microsoft Corp.
