Michelle, having spent 4th grade to college graduation in Fremont and Alameda, I spent a lot of time at Bay Meadows and Golden Gate Fields in Albany. Charismatic is not the only one. Event of the Year, who, IMHO, would have beaten Real Quiet in the Triple Crown, ran at BMD and GGF, before winning one of the big prep races (I think the Jim Beam), and then coming up with an injury. And he just recently returned to beat Silver Charm at Santa Anita, though he was beaten by Free House. But pretty classy co.

Bay Meadows and Golden Gate are kind of middling tracks. They certainly don't have the purses of the three LA tracks. But they have better horses than most we see out here in the southwest.

When I take my mother to simulcast, she always wants to bet on Russell Baze at Bay Meadows. <g> The one we used to bet on when I was a kid was Raul Cabellero.
