Remember how Amazon.com recently said it intends to float $2 billion of securities to raise cash and take advantage of the capital markets. E*Trade wants to raise serious money too by doubling their authorization of shares to 600 million. Who cares about E*Trade shareholder value? Sad to see.

E*Trade Group (EGRP 45 1/16 -4 15/16) "Online broker asking shareholders to approve the doubling of authorized shares from 300 million to 600 million, according to SEC filing.
