Aside from the present Nato illegalities you're now saying the EU will compound this by insisting on the removal of a democratically elected leader?

DD,

I'm sorry but I have to ask you exactly what world you're living on.

Tony Blair has been ACTIVELY calling for the overthrow of Milo and there have not been any NATO leaders, to my recollection, who have stated that Milo must stay in office.

So why you haven't heard this before is amazing to me.

The NATO bombings are illegal, but you certainly didn't protest the human rights violations being perpetrated by Milosevic's subordinates and commanders. Those are illegal as well.

The fact that the Serbs used their Air Force to bomb unarmed Bosnian civilians in support of the Bosnian Serbs by in '94-95 was illegal as well. He only stopped when NATO imposed a no-fly zone and threatened to shoot his aircraft down.

The difference is that Milo and his crew have been breaking international law and violating basic human rights for years now while the UN and world opinion has been vacillating about what to do.
He pushes until the West decides to use force and then he signs a peace treaty, which he later breaks. That has been his Modus Operandi for years now.

The only possible illegality I see right now is a violation of the War Powers Act. Clinton is overdue in reporting to congress on initiating action against Milosevic. It could prove to be an interesting constitutional battle. Does the US acting under NATO treaty obligations neccessitate a triggering of the Act??

Btw, Adolf Hitler was democratically elected, as have been so many other dictators. Where we differ in the use of the word is that a democratically leader does not require terror to kept down political opposition.

It's obvious to me that the word "democracy" is only a word for you to toy with and b*tch about.

Regards,

Ron
