I know it is hard to believe but any short data is really worthless beyond a few hours. Ever consider buying a stock based on quote data almost 2 weeks old?

I often look at price data that is months or years old before I buy/sell a stock. Short data is useful in the same way in that it can give you a historical reference of the sentiment following a stock. Worthless to day trader I guess.

Don, as I've mentioned in the article about convertible notes, the short interest on AAPL is not what it seems. The reason for tracking it is to get a sense of how many of those shares due to be issued next week may go towards offsetting the short interest.
