Mohan, The guy has several problems. One is he is a theorist who knows he shouldn't try to interfere in the real world. Hence the fear that somebody may actually try his nutburger remedies causes him to flip flop like a marlin on the deck of a fishing boat. Second, he is really a nasty dude in jumping on his colleagues. That's fine, but then he whines when they respond in kind. Third, he blames others when he makes a mistake. For example, at that Morgan Stanley conference Epstein wrote about, Krugman basically said that all portfolio managers are idiots. He stole my line except I only say most are idiots. <g> But the reason they are idiots is because they walked out when he gave a boring, irrelevant speech. They didn't have to take notes for an exam and if he can't hold his audience, the audience isn't to blame. No one ever walked out of my speeches at those conferences. O.K., so I locked the doors and wouldn't give the key back until the end. But they don't walk out. <g>
