In volatile markets, when one enters a trade, one should either:
a) set a reasonably tight stop to protect from a large loss, or
b) make a decision before the trade that one is ready
to turn a trade into a position hold (another way of saying
that you believe enough in the company's fundamentals to hold
it at a loss in anticipation of a rebound in the longer term)

I have broken these rules again and again and again, but maybe
the more I write it, the better I will follow it. It stinks
to make a mistake, but learning from it can help to lessen the
damage in the future.
