It's fascinating that the article's author chose to mention that Intel won't get into the ASP business. Why? Because it's such a logical extension of the business that it's hard to imagine that Intel won't get into it. Thus, the question had to be posed to Intel. The answer to the question is actually less important than the issue that the question HAD to be asked.

Intel is getting into the server-farm business so they can continue to sell more chips. More server farms making more info easily accessible to PCs means selling more chips to the owners of those PCs. And by the way, we're not just talking PCs. Not too far off in the future will see those server farms serving up info to hand-held devices.

Remember that the quote said Intel has no "intentions" to get into the business. Intentions change. There are only two questions. The first: will Intel get into it on their own or through an acquisition? The second: when? It's aonly a matter of time.

Just my opinion.
