Richard, It looks like I have found a new good freind. I use MetaStock. I used the default value for VHF of 28. I think you use higher value which would provide more smoothing. My favorite indicator is Chande Momentum Oscillator. I think it is the best. I use KST which was created by Martin Pring. Martin uses ROC in KST but I use Chande Momentum Oscillator instead because it provide oversold and overbought values of -50 and +50 which would be equivalent to 30 and 70 for RSI. Chande Momentum Oscillator looks almost identical to ROC. I am very heavily into Sector Investing. From all my research I have found it to be the best. I use Stochastic, RSI, MACD, MACD Histogram, and OBV. They are more then enough for me. I am also very good with chart patterns like Head and Shoulders, Triangles, and so forth. To answer your question about the 70's. I was not there but I read about it.

Good trading,

Christopher
