<<The DELL Consumer Division is ramping up Big Time..!!
I'm not sure that's good news - might be good for the top line but does not leverage DELL's model well (almost no use for BTO capability, mostly sold through retail where DELL has little presence, cut-throat pricing will depress ASPs and margins...).>>

DELL will do it differently IMO. Why copy competitor's inefficient methods..? BTO will still feed the consumer effort. I feel that DELL will not use the retail channel (in a traditional sense)...Soon they'll be growing fast --in a very profitable and efficient way. A recent issue of Forbes has a good article on DELL's new consumer efforts. I expect additional announcements.

IMO, DELL will NOT leave enterprise opportunities on the table. If an expanded alliance with IBM is announced, watch out..!!

Best Regards,

Scott
