Hey ... I am not sure I remember when it was .. probably mid to late '80's....VO had this huge investment in resources and it did nothing util the huge inflation days of whenever..they sold their position and had something like $1.45 per share cash per $1.00 VO share..the market discounted it huge because the market thought they would blow the next acqusitition/deal...which they did...I think it was buying MGM off the Japanese after they bought Pebble Beach golf and and the rest of the the 'movie type deals'...could be wrong tho!!
