Need to make sure volume has expanded sufficiently to take out the overhead. MM's can fool with the price, but it's a little more difficult to paint the volume. (but they can do it by trading (playing) with themselves.)

A couple of reasons..A market maker may just jump up to my stop and sell me some shares at a higher price and then take the stock back down, particularly in low volume stocks..Secondly, I try to keep an eye on a lot of different stocks, and it just gives me an added concern of another position to keep an eye on..Third, I like to see how the stock is acting in the congestion area, and make my decisions at that point..At that point I might put in a buy stop order...
